Position Objective & Professional Profile

The primary objective for the Human Resources Director position is to oversee all personnel and human resource activities including, but not limited to, recruitment and orientation, training and development, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations and counseling, evaluations and discipline, exit interviews, handbook and records maintenance, FMLA, and unemployment claims, among any other related policy and procedural matters contributing to the development of HR department goals, objectives, and systems.

Standard Duties & Supporting Responsibilities

  • Communicate and administer employment policies & procedures
  • Develop and monitor department operations and strategies
  • Serve as a strategic resource to leadership
  • Implement human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities
  • Conduct pre-employment and onboarding processes and paperwork
  • Facilitate new-employee documentation
  • Deliver and maintain medical and 401k benefit plans
  • Respond to employee questions and concerns referring them to alternate information sources when appropriate
  • Process unemployment claims
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of Director or Manager experience in the HR field
  • Working knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws
  • Knowledgeable of HR concepts, policies and procedures, with clear understanding of legal compliance requirements and employment related laws
  • Able to lead and mentor a team
  • Highly developed communication skills through all means of interaction
  • Strong work ethic, high energy level and a positive attitude
  • Excellent computer skills

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR or business-related field
  • A PHR/SPHR/HRMP/HRBP or related HR certifications
